Prof. Ellabban’s educational background and international training have provided a solid base for him to develop an acknowledged
expertise in the field of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. In 2002, he started his basic surgical training in general and plastic surgery
at Suez Canal University Hospitals, Egypt, and was awarded a master’s degree in surgery in 2004. Thereafter, He had a head and neck
oncoplastic fellowship in Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit, Glasgow, United Kingdom for three years. In 2008, he became a member of
the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (MRCS Glas) after the completion of its exam. He then undertook two years
of training in plastic and reconstructive surgery as a Specialty Registrar in several Scottish teaching hospitals as well as periods spent
as a visiting fellow in specialist centers in Belgium and the United States of America. In 2009, he had a “University Diploma in Free Flap
Dissection on Living Tissue”, in Timisoara, Romania. In 2010, He became a Fellow of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive
and Aesthetic Surgery (FEBOPRAS) after completing its exam. In 2021, He was appointed as Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive
Surgery, at Suez Canal University, Egypt. He has continued to publish his work within the plastic surgery and scientific literature, and
present nationally and internationally at plastic surgery conferences. He has received various academic and research field awards
during his career. He regularly teaches and supervises postgraduate studies of junior plastic surgeons as in microsurgery, limb trauma,
and head and neck reconstruction. Prof. Ellabban is currently the secretary general of the Egyptian Society for Surgery of the Hand and
Microsurgery (ESSHM).
