Dr. Amani Bashir, MBBS, is a Clinical Associate Professor of Pathology at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and Director of Breast Pathology at the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center. She is board- certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology as well as Cytopathology. Dr. Bashir completed her medical degree and initial pathology training at the University of Jordan, followed by residency and dual fellowships in Cytopathology and Surgical Pathology at the University of Iowa. Her academic interests focus on breast pathology, surgical pathology education, and translational research, with a robust record of peer- reviewed publications and collaborative grant-funded projects. In addition to her clinical and research roles, Dr. Bashir is actively engaged in medical education, she served as the Pathology Residency program director (2016- 2021) and currently serves as Director of the Surgical Pathology Fellowship Program at the University of Iowa.
